Good news about the Hike/Bike path bridge installation just arrived!  Recall that the path has been repaved but the bridge at the U.S. Coast Guard station is being replaced. Here is what Marcus Wadsworth at Supervisor McKay’s office sent me today:
The bridge construction will take place later this month. The section of the trail being closed is between Helmsdale Lane and Dunsmore Road. The contractor will start March 19th and weather permitting, the project will take forty-five days.
This is great news; bridge installation will complete the renewal (repaving) of the Hike/Bike path from Helmsdale Road to just short of the Exxon gas station. New sidewalk extends to the gas station. I know that our Hayfield Citizens Association, indeed all of Hayfield Farm and the neighboring communities, are all grateful to Supervisor McKay for supporting this project and to Marcus Wadsworth who has tracked progress over the past year or so.
